17.7.15
My time has been taken up today spending quality time with my grandchildren, all 4 of them in one day. I was in Warrington with my gorgeous and very clever granddaughter Nala until lunch time, then drove back to Huddersfield to collect my 8 year old grandson Leiland from school who then accompanied me to Nottingham where we will spend the week end with his cousins Riley and Zackary.
I have had another donation which made my day by Ian McGregor (Heart) Thank you Ian, I am working on organising an exhibition of images taken during the trek and will keep you informed of the outcome as soon as I have confirmation.
All other sponsor ideas are waiting to be confirmed and new ideas are still being suggested, such as car wash, car boot sale and photo shoot prizes..
So over the week end I have lots of work to do, and lots of children to entertain, therefore I will leave the blog until Monday when I will write an update on all fundraising events.
Have a great week end folks..

Donation page
16.7.15
Well after finally building myself a Virgin giving page, and going to bed at 3am.. I woke up to a nice surprise of having received my first donation via the Fundraising page- £10 thanks to Del..
I am awarding him a prize for being the 1st to donate and hopefully he will get me some more donations.. I am giving him a signed print taken in Chernobyl, which featured in the Sunday Times Magazine, and has been in several exhibitions in London, Manchester and Leeds.
This particular print is a limited edition of 50, printed at A3 signed, numbered and framed, I was thinking of selling the remaining 48 in a choice of either framed or just the print.
Today I have been planning fund raising events and ideas for prizes, so far I have managed to come up with a signed book written by !!! to be confirmed soon, various signed memorabilia of Warrington Wolves, a framed sketch from a famous artist, who will be named once I have the item..
I will continue to work on lots of other prizes so watch this space and don't miss out..
In an attempt to raise awareness of my challenge I have promoted my Virgin Money Giving Page on Twitter, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn. I will post the ongoing total once the money starts coming in, to keep you updated.
Please feel free to offer donations of money via the giving page or gifts which I can raffle and raise money i.e. a meal at a restaurant, beauty treatment, etc..I can be contacted through Facebook here;

Getting things rolling
15.7.15
Today I set up my Virgin Money Giving Fundraising page, to raise money for the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. My challenge is to trek across the Sahara over 6 days between 6-7 hours a day, carrying a backpack weighing 7 kilo's.
Of course I can do it.. I'm not as fit as I need to be for this epic experience, and so as well as organising other events to raise money, I will be doing some training, so that I don't hold other people back on the trek.
I have always enjoyed helping others, but haven't always had the free time. Now that my children are all grown up and mothers themselves, and my working hours are now considerably less than they used to be.. I can commit myself to undertaking such challenges, and hopefully raise more than the required amount.
I booked the trek only yesterday and since have been thinking of every way possible to fundraise from bag packing, to car boots etc.. but need to come up with something g original..
I've been at work all day and it's now 02:41 I can't think, I need sleep so I will leave you for today, but keep checking in and keep up to date with whats happening..
